Professor, writer, honorary State Councilor, Special Advisor to the President of the French Republic from 1981 to 1991, founder and first chairman of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London from 1991 to 1993, Jacques Attali (www.attali.com) is now president of A&A (www.aeta.net), an international consulting firm based in Paris specializing in new technology, and President of PlaNet Finance (www.planetfinance.org), an international nonprofit organization specializing in development of microfinancing.

With a doctorate in economics, Jacques Attali is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique (valedictorian in the class of 1963), Ecole des Mines, the Institut d'Etudes Politiques and the Ecole Nationale de l'Administration.
