On the morning of May 15, Liu Yang, vice chairman of China Council of the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing), met with the delegation of ASEAN Trade Promotion Association (ATPA) led by Liu Zechen, chairman of ASEAN.
Vice Chairman Liu Yang relayed Chinaman Xiong Jiuling’s cordial greetings to Chairman Liu Zechen, introduced the distinguished guests the nature, functions of CCPIT Beijing and Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC), as well as the latest progresses of China Beijing International of Hi-tech Expo (CHITEC) and China Beijing International Culture and Creative Industry Expo (ICCIE), and warmly welcomed ATPA to take use of these expo platforms to introduce the market and opportunities of ASEAN. Mr. Liu stated that the successful cooperation of the CCPIT Beijing and the Association through the exhibitor attraction for the 2012 ASEAN (Bangkok) China Beijing Import & Export Commodities Fair (ACIEC) facilitated the mutual understanding and trust, thus hoped two sides to sign friendly cooperative agreements and hold some economic trading activities like meeting on ASEAN market analysis to create more cooperative opportunities for member enterprises.
Chairman Liu Zechen agreed with the above proposals put forward by Mr. Liu Yang, and invited leaders of CCPIT Beijing to be present at the ACIEC 2012 and the concurrent 4th China-ASEAN Economic and Trade Forum & China-Thailand Investment and Financing Conference to reach some cooperative agreements. Mr. Liu Zechen also provided some profile of ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) and ATPA. ATPA, established with the approval of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand and aimed at improving the economic trade and cooperation between China and ASEAN, plays host to some famous exhibitions like the Thailand Build Tech and the ACIEC.
