Interaction•Innovation 2011 International Metal Art Exhibition and Academic Forum Opens at the China Millennium Monument

On the morning of Nov. 6, 2011, as a component of the 6th ICCIE,  Interaction·Innovation  2011 International Metal Art Exhibition and Academic Forum opened at  the Modern Art Hall of the China Millennium Monument. The exhibition will last ten days from Nov. 6 to 15, when over 260 works (over 180 from Chinese artists; over 80 from foreign artists) of 135 artists from 9 countries including Japan, South Korea, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Denmark, U.S. and  China will be exhibited. The works will cover artistic accessories and ornaments(utensils and ornaments). An appraisal committee composed of 17 members from the above 9 countries will select 4 works for Golden Prize (2 for metal art, 2 for accessory art), 4 works for Best Material Prize, 4 for Best Technique Prize and 4 for Best Design Prize.
 
This event, hosted by Academy of Art and Design, Tsinghua University and the China Millennium Monument Management Center, aims to demonstrate the role, significance and value of metal art in modern art and social life; to explore the developing trend of metal art; and to provide a platform for domestic and foreign artists, teachers and students of art schools as well as metal art fans to take exchange and academic discussions, showing the charm of metal art and promoting the development of modern mainstream arts.
 
On the day of opening, 2011 International Metal Art Forum was also held. 6 experts and artists from Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Denmark and China gave thematic speeches on the topics of the Creation of Art School Graduates, the Form and Value of Arts and Crafts in South Korea, Jewelry Design, Silk Road Metalwork Survey, and the Developing Environment of Modern Art. It’s learned that the International Metal Art Exhibition will be held regularly at the Modern Art Hall of the China Millennium Monument.
