The 7th China (Beijing) International Cultural & Creative Industry Expo (ICCIE), which is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture, the State Administration of Radio Film and Television, General Administration of Press and Publication and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, is to be held from December 19th to 23rd in Beijing. Now, entrusted by the Organizing Committee, I will give a brief introduction to friends and guests from the media present here about the main activities and preparations for the 7th ICCIE.
Founded in 2006, the ICCIE is a state-level international exchange and cooperation platform set up by the Chinese government in Beijing in order to carry out the national strategy of developing the cultural industry, and bring into play the unique resource advantage of the capital city as the national center of culture, of scientific and technological innovation, and of international exchange. The previous six sessions of the ICCIE attracted more than 200 governmental and industrial delegations and international organizations from dozens of countries around the world to conduct cultural exchange and discuss cooperation. More than ten thousand domestic and foreign cultural and creative enterprises and organizations showcased and promoted excellent cultural products with distinctive characteristics. More than 1000 domestic and international renowned experts and scholars from cultural industries as well as government authorities delivered speeches at ICCIE forums. According to incomplete statistics, the former six sessions of the ICCIE witnessed the signing of 1465 cooperation projects, with a total contractual amount of 256.3 billion yuan.
The 7th ICCIE is the first grand state-level event of international exchange and cooperation in cultural and creative industries after the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and the entirely new assembly and overall appearance of all circles related to China's cultural and creative industries in the important period of strategic opportunities fordeveloping a strong socialist culture in China.The present ICCIE will take "culture integrated with science and technology, innovation leading transformation" as its theme, and promoting the construction of the cultural market system as its mission, displaying comprehensively the latest achievements of China's reform of the cultural system and innovations of cultural science and technology. It will highlight the vigor and vitality in the integration of culture with science and technology, combining inheritance with innovation, and driving industrial transformation and upgrading. It will gather together the market factors of cultural industry in an all-round way, and build five interactive platforms of cultural trade, investment and financing, the dissemination of information, scientific and technological innovation, and talent allocation. It will, from an international perspective, explore and exchange forward-looking concepts and successful experiences of developing a strong socialist culture in China, helping Chinese culture go global.
