Li Jie, the Emcee: “Let’s focus on the headline today, the development of cultural and creative industry. Let’s take a look at how flourishing the cultural and creative industry is developing in Beijing with the financial aid. ”
A citizen: “I have never seen this vehicle before.”
Zhang Mingbo, Deputy General Manager of Shangba (Bejing) Culture Co., Ltd.,: “It is expected to go through all these mobile photostudios with the concept of caravan.”
So far, the mobile caravan has travelled to 35 cities throughout China. It comes to the Culture Expo for the purpose of winning some attention and settling down in Beijing. Although this business has not been developed to a large scale, it is creative enough without worry about buyer. Look, a number of creative industries from Chaoyang District have extended their olive branch.
Feng Chunqiu, Director of Chaoyang District Cultural & Creative Industry Development Center: “Elements required for cultural industry development have been fully concentrated in Chaoyang, so this place can offer a favorable ecological industrial environment for cultural industry development.”
It is reported that six cultural and creative bases have been gathered in the media corridor of Chaoyang District so far. It is predicted that cultural and creative income of this district will break through RMB 160billion this year, which is 2.3times greater than that in 2009. And its unique hula-hoop effect is initially emerging.
Feng Chunqiu, Director of Chaoyang District Cultural & Creative Industry Development Center: “All these industrial chains formed a hula-hoop of industrial development when they are connected. The government only needs to take some skills to help the hula-hoop shift rapidly in the market.”
Obviously, the skill has brought plenty of benefit to Chaoyang District. Take culture performance field in touch with people for example, a number of popular plays and operas have been intended for settlement in such a favorable market environment, e.g. the music drama Mamma Mia which has set a RMB 85million box-office record, has settled down in the Century Theater with new year grand drama continuously for three years. And Poly Theater has cooperated with the popular magician Liu Qian, launched grand magic show in the capital continuously for two years. The reporter has learnt from the Culture Expo that the first original crosstalk drama theater will also settle down in Chaoyang.
Li Heng, President of Beijing International Copyright Trade Center, : “At least RMB 20million is invested every year. Although it still remains our attempt to the crosstalk drama, I feel very confident in that.”
It is reported that Beijing International Copyright Trade Center has signed a cooperation agreement with an amount up to RMB 10billion, covering publishing, music, original performance and some other categories. Moreover, listing of dedicated financing fund of domestic cellphone and cultural & creative industries will provide financial support for over 10,000 medium and small-scale cultural & creative enterprises with financial amount of RMB 2billion. Certainly., such huge fund is oriented to the live market. Index of current Chinese cultural industry statistics shows that index of cultural consumption environment in Beijing ranks No. 1 throughout the country.
Liu Yuzhu, Director General of Cultural Industry Department, Ministry of Culture, P.R.C, : “Cultural industry plays a significant role in promoting urban economic development pattern transformation and upgrading, which will remain a long-term course.”
Relevant data show that potential cultural consumption scale is approximately RMB 4700billion in China, which takes 30% of total consumer consumption spending. However, the current cultural consumption scale only occupies 6.6% of total consumer spending. We still have a long way to go for our cultural and creative industry in the future.
Lu Di, the Emcee, : “Take the image happened recently, the Rubber Duck. I think this represents the cultural and creative industry. And from this we know what international cultural and creative level really looks like. Although it is only a magnification of an ordinary duck, this business is expanded and has won attention from lots of people and further brought so much profit. In China, we have many copycat green duck, yellow duck, weird duck in different versions, etc.”
Li Jie, the Emcee, : “Car tail duck, duck in vest, etc.”
Lu Di, the Emcee: “actually it is thought-provoking”
Li Jie, the Emcee, : “Actually it is something how you can make your creation to be attractive and convert it to a kind of business at the same time, so as to gain real economic profit. This will promote industrial and economic development as an industrial chain. This is not only an idea, it is critical to gain support and promotion from relevant government authority, including financial support. Like what is shown in the movie that, Beijing Government has provided ssupport to a large extent, to the Culture Expo for example. Yesterday, we visited the exhibition site of the Culture Expo and witnessed a lot of new industrial and creative ideas there. Plenty of measures and project bringing benefit to the mass were also presented. Let’s see what you would like to buy if you have some shopping trolleys in hands.”
