经济合作发展组织的前身是欧洲经济合作组织，成立于1947年，起初是为了运行有美国资助的马歇尔计划以重建由于战争而被摧毁的欧洲。经济合作发展组织于1961年9月30日正式成立。

目前，经济合作发展组织在全世界有34个会员，共同致力于发现、讨论、分析问题并提出解决方案。经济合作发展组织的任务是制定有利于全世界人民社会经济健康幸福的政策。经济合作发展组织拥有大约40个国家，占据世界贸易和投资的80%，这决定了其在解决世界经济存在的挑战中起到了重要的作用。

The Organisation for European Economic Cooperation (OEEC) was established in 1947 to run the US-financed Marshall Plan for reconstruction of a continent ravaged by war. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) was officially born on 30 September 1961, when the Convention entered into force.

Today, 34 OECD member countries worldwide regularly turn to one another to identify problems, discuss and analyse them, and promote policies to solve them. The mission of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world. OECD brings around its table 40 countries that account for 80% of world trade and investment, giving it a pivotal role in addressing the challenges facing the world economy.
