ABB是全球电力和自动化技术领域的领导企业，致力于帮助电力、工业、交通和基础设施等领域客户提高业绩，同时降低对环境的影响。ABB集团总部位于瑞士苏黎世，业务遍布全球近100个国家，拥有13.5万名员工，2015年销售收入约为360亿美元。

ABB于1979年在北京设立办事处，并于1995年正式注册了投资性控股公司——ABB（中国）有限公司。经过多年的快速发展，ABB迄今在中国拥有研发、制造、销售和工程服务等全方位的业务活动，员工1.8万名，拥有40家本地企业和遍布全国147个城市的销售与服务网络。2015年ABB在中国的销售收入超过330亿元人民币，其中90%以上来自于本地制造。

ABB坚持“在中国，为中国和世界”的发展战略，推动技术研发的本土化。2005年，ABB在北京建立了ABB中国研究院，该研究院是ABB集团在全球7大研发中心之一。

ABB在中国参与了众多国家重点工程的建设，比如西电东送、南水北调、京沪高铁、北京奥运场馆项目、北京APEC峰会、首都国际机场改扩建项目以及上海世博会等。

北京是ABB中国总部所在地。此外，ABB在北京还设有5家本地企业。ABB在北京参与建设的项目还包括人民大会堂、国家大剧院、地铁4号线、中央电视台总部大楼、菜市口智能变电站等。

In 2015, ABB’s revenues in China exceeded RMB 33 billion, more than 90% of which were from locally made products, solutions and services.

ABB has participated in many key national projects, such as the west-to-east power transmission project, the south-to-north water diversion project, Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway, Beijing Olympic Games stadiums and APEC, the Beijing International Airport expansion project and the Shanghai Expo.

Beijing is home to the headquarters of ABB China and another five ABB local companies. Other projects that ABB has contributed to in Beijing include the Great Hall of the People, the National Centre for the Performing Arts, subway Line 4, CCTV headquarters and the Caishikou smart substation.
